I am sure there are hundreds of students out there that share my frustrations with the housing situation in Ann Arbor. It seems as if it takes thousands of phone calls and hundreds of viewings to find even one DECENT place to live. I propose one centralized website for all housing that allows every realty company to place all of their availability online. Students could then create a customized front page that can be automatically updated with exactly the information that each student desires. For example, a student's page could show available 3 bedroom apartments, the number of people showing interest in each apartment, as well as information about the place. I think the potential for the website is huge, but in reality the logistical issues as well as competition issues are just too big for anything to happen sometime soon.
